Allopurinol - antipodagric medicine that diminishes the uric acid synthesis in the body, due to inhibition of xanthine oxidase ferment that is the catalyst of hypoxanthine-xanthine-uric acid transformation. This transformation leads to decrease of uric acid and its salts concentration in a fluid medium and urine, that contributes to solution of urate measures and prevent their formation in tissues and kidneys. At the same time hypoxanthine and xanthine excretion is well increased.

Indications for use:
• treatment, podagra and hyperuricemy prophylaxis of any genesis, including combined with renal failure and urate nephropathy;
• recurrent mixed oxalate-calcium nephrolithes in the presence of hyperuricosuria;
• increased urate formation as a result of enzymatic abnormalities;
• prophylaxis of acute nephropathy.

Contraindications: • pregnancy;
• well-defined liver and kidney dysfunction;
• hypersensitivity to the drug.
